What is Mixes.net?
Simply put, our site provides free dj mixes to you. Ultimately we hope to have most genres of electronic music covered on the site. Currently there are progressive house, tech house, and minimal dj mixes available. We will con tinue to send out these mixes as cds or on zip drives until it becomes financial irresponsible for us to do so. Then, we will only charge for shipping and handling the mixes. The mixed tracks come from various artists not connected to Mixes.net and were purchased by Mixes.net djs via record stores or online music distributors. The rights to these tracks are the property of the artists or the record labels for which they have a contract. Mixes.net is not in the business of reselling or making profit off other peoples music.
Motivation
The founder of Mixes.net is Salient. DJ Salient started mixing records in 1996. He grew up listening to shoegazers during the 1980's and gravitated to the California underground with friends in the 90's. He was strongly influenced by DJ Brian and Brad from Moontribe, Doran, Christopher Lawerence, Richie Hawtin, and Demetri Nocturnal (an incredible tactician on the CDJ's, turntables, Ableton and good friend). Salient is a turntablist and user of CDJ's, but spends most of his time utilizing Ableton to perfect his mixes. The goal is to share his mixes with listeners who enjoy the same types of music.

If you are interested in adding your dj mixes please use the contact form link off this page. You will be prompted to give us your name and email address. In the comments box let us know the number of mixes you would like to showcase, what genre they are, and whether you have cover art. We can't guarentee every mix will be added, but we plan on reviewing every mix sent to us. Remember, we are giving away mixes free to our visitors. The idea is you get exposure to listeners.

The dj mixes posted to this site were put together using any or all of the following equipment: Technics 1200 MK2 turntables, Pioneer DJM-1000 Mixer, Pioneer CDJ-1000, and Ableton Live.
